Shin Ho Kwan Membership Overview

Sick of being a member of a Hapkido Association that charges you or your school a ton of money but seems to offer you nothing in return? Shin Ho Kwan Hapkido Member Schools only pay very small fees when their students take promotion examinations. These fees start at only $5 per student per exam and only go up based on the supplies Shin Ho Kwan provides: belts, uniforms, manuals, etc. Therefore, if your school is willing to maintain its own inventory, you will get ALL of the benefits of being a Shin Ho Kwan member school for only the $5 fee. This gives your school freedom, which most associations do not allow.

Shin Ho Kwan Membership Levels

INDIVIDUAL

Black Belt

Shin Ho Kwan currently only accepts individuals that are certified Kukkiwon Black Belts or equivalent, as Individual Members.

Membership Benefits:

Global Hapkido Association (GHA) Certification up to 7th Dan is available to black belts upon completion of examinations.
Access to GHA’s Black Belt Curriculum (1st – 9th Dan).
Access to Instruction, both in person and online, with one or more of Shin Ho Kwan’s Instructors.
Discounts on training equipment, uniforms, weapons, etc.
Ability to attend Shin Ho Kwan member only events and seminars.
Phone access to Grandmaster Pearson and other Shin Ho Kwan high dan’s.

Cost:

As with the Shin Ho Kwan School Memberships, there is no annual fee for being a Shin Ho Kwan individual member. Shin Ho Kwan makes it money solely through examination fees.

PCS

Partial Curriculum School

PCS Schools (Partial Curriculum Schools) get all the benefits of being a Shin Ho Kwan member school, but with the freedom to maintain their school’s current curriculum, with only a few minor adjustments.

Membership Benefits:

Global Hapkido Association (GHA) Certification up to 7th Dan is available to black belts upon completion of examinations.
Access to GHA’s Color Belt Curriculum (9th – 1st Gup) & Black Belt Curriculum (1st – 9th Dan).
Access to Instruction, both in person and online, with one or more of Shin Ho Kwan’s Instructors.
Discounts on training equipment, uniforms, weapons, manuals (both gup & dan), etc.
Ability to attend Shin Ho Kwan member only events and seminars.
Phone access to Grandmaster Pearson and other Shin Ho Kwan high dan’s.
Ability to use Shin Ho Kwan’s logo in advertising, in school, on uniforms, etc.
Access to Shin Ho Kwan’s extensive collection of ads for both print and online advertising.
Ability to use Shin Ho Kwan’s report cards, tip testing cards, agreements, promotion applications, logo’ed boards for breaking, business cards, etc.
Schools are provided with or can purchase Shin Ho Kwan flags & exam table covers.
Upon request, Grandmaster Pearson or another high dan will will teach an event at the member school and/or proctor a black belt promotion examination.

Shin Ho Kwan PCS Schools only pay a small portion of the promotion examination fees they collect from their color belts and black belts. There is no annual membership fee.

FCS

Full Curriculum School

FCS Schools (Full Curriculum Schools) get all the benefits of being a Shin Ho Kwan member school. The main difference between a FCS and a PCS school is that Full Curriculum Schools use Shin Ho Kwan’s complete curriculum from 9th Gup – 9th Dan. GHA’s curriculum increases a school’s student retention by keeping both their color belts and black belts engaged in learning and excited to attend classes.
