Shin Ho Kwan’s 29th Annual Black Belt Winter Retreat
Thursday, January 14 – Sunday, January 17 – 2021
29 years ago, Shin Ho Kwan started offering a Winter Retreat for its black belts. This retreat was and still is specifically designed to offer black belts a means to focus on the mental aspects of various martial arts. The first retreat had only 6 attendees. More recent retreats have attracted numerous black belts from across the USA and Mexico, and have grown to attract black belts from other martial arts, such as Kali, Hapkido, Karate and Aikido. Originally only Master Pearson taught the two day retreats. Now the four day retreats are taught by Grandmaster Hee Kwan Lee (Hapkido), Grandmaster Sean Pearson (Taekwondo), Grandmaster Adrian Garcia (Police Tactics), Master Bill Humbel (Kali) and Sensei Gardner (Aikido). In addition, Dr. Peter Kladstrup (Health) will be a visiting instructor this retreat. Gon 29 is truly a life changing event that is not to be missed.
The retreat is only open to Adult (15 years old and older) Black Belts or equivalent.
Retreat participants should arrive at the retreat center between 4pm and 6:30pm. If you are new to the retreat, we recommend you arrive before 6pm. This will allow you to move into your room and be ready for the new student orientation that is held at 6:30pm. All first and second year participants must attend a meditation review at 7pm. The opening ceremony starts at 8pm.
